i've had good luck with sjw and an ssri in my personality, anxiety and mood. but one thing lacked ... the energy.

after much research i figured out that my lack of energy was due to not enough proteins. we need to have a good ratio for good performance and to clean out all the neurotransmitter by-products.

is there such a thing as a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor?

i notice that when i need to be more active in order to get my thoughts flowing. perhaps it's got to do with finding the right mix of sjw (serotonin), protein and circulation (movement or ginko-biloba). i'm 35 and ginko is often for 60+, right? any ideas on keeping a good balance?

I think Gingko really helps with "Head Fogginess". When I was depressed I had a hard time thinking, concentrating and stumbled for the right word. While I was taking 5htp for the deprssion I also took Gingko and it helped very much. I don't think it matters how old you are.

Also you may want to try a low-carb diet.

i'll try your advice. that's good confirmation that it works for you and that it's not just for older people.

i have tried gingko before and got mixed results. sometimes i've been too wired at night to sleep. i've always been able to fall asleep fast but i recently started questioning the intensity of my sleep. too much gingko would make me toss and turn. i usually can't take a whole pill. usually i cut it in fourths which is about 2-5 mg. that does give me the mental clarity like you said. but then sometimes it would make my lower brain stem (hypocampus?) ache with a pulse. lately i've realized that i may be low on certain protiens especially l-tyrosine. so i've added that to my trials. currently i'm trying 200mg 5-htp at night and 500-1000mg l-tyrosine in the morning. i'll take your advice and try 10-15mg of gingko in the morning as well.

have you tried vinpocetine? it is supposed to improve circulation in the brain only. i did try it about a year ago just one tablet and it made me sooo foggy. at that time i was using st john's wort so may be it simply amplified sjw's affects. the reason i think this is because i recently read that too much serotonin causes confusion. boy what a delicate balance all this is.

what do you think of all this?

I got the same results as sajosh. Ginkgo Biloba really helps you become more aware. It gets rid of that "dreamy" feel you have when you're depressed.
