Hello
I was advised by a Naturopath to start 5-htp for depression, etc. I took it before for about a month with no noticable results. I would like to take the Nature's Way brand everyone here seems to take with success, but for now I have Solaray enteric-coated with B6 and C.
I have a few quetions for you guys who have had success with it:
1. How much B6 is in the Nature's Way brand?
2. For those who also take L-Tyrosine with the 5-htp, do you take it right with the 5-htp or at a different time of day?
3. How may hours before and after the 5-htp do you wait to eat?
4. Do you take a simple carbo with the 5-htp to aid in the 5-htp crossing the blood-brain barrier?

Here is the description from the Nature's way bottle of 5htp:
Supplement Facts
Serving Size: 2 Tablets
Amount Per Serving %Daily Value
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) 120 mg 200%
Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine HCI) 20 mg 1000%
5-HTP 100 mg *
For depression I took 250 mg in the morning w/coffee and then a couple hours later ate something. I also took another dose of 250 mg in the afternoon around 3pm with a snack.
I recently, tried a less expensive brand than Nature's way, and I was very dissappointed with the effectiveness.

dupont, how about NOW Products? i just bought some NOW HTP. WHAT DO YOU THINK? SORRY IF THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN ASKED.
