Does this affect male sex drive? If so how?

The regular SSRIs (Paxil, Prozac, etc) are notorious for destroying sex drive and/or performance. They may work in other respects, but certainly not in the bedroom! I had plenty problems on Paxil, but since quitting that and subsequently taking 5-htp, everything's back to normal with regards to sex drive and performance.

After years of E-taking I found my libido dropping, 5-htp seems to help restore it just the way it does with seretonan.
