I've been taking SJW for about 3 months and was going to get some 5-HTP. Has anyone taken 3x 'ST. JOHN’S WORT Standardized Extract 300 mg Standardized to contain 0.30% Hypericin' and 1-2x '5-HTP 50 mg. Capsules' per day?
Good or bad?

Hi there,
I'm on exactly those doses of each and have found it to be much more effective than SJW alone. I had been taking SJW for 4 months when I started the 5htp - initially I reduced the SJW to 600mg a day, and only took 50mg 5htp, but have since increased both with no problems. The 5htp did alter my sleep patterns at first, and made me slightly more anxious, but I'm fine now.

What is it, I know its for anxiety but is it included with some sjw or is it a seperate bottle. What's the best brand and price range. Right now I taking sjw, its been 2 weeks. But I suffer will social anxiety also. I read on this site that some people are taking vit-b for it let me now something please.

I just got them from the shop, so I'll be giving them ago tonight.
Did you say you are taking 2x 50mg 5-HTP per day? or just 1x?
I'm going to do 1x and see how it gose and then I might do 2x per day.
So tonight 3x 300g SJW and 1x 50g 5-HTP.

Hi,
I'm now taking 2 x 50mg. One at night with along with a dose of SJW, and one at lunch time.
One more thing - I read here that it's better not to take 5htp within 2/3 hours of eating protein, but I'm not exactly sure why. I think it's something to do with how it absorbs into your body. It's easier said than done though, and I've never noticed the difference.
