Hi guys

I've been having a few problems sleeping lately after months of improved sleep using 5-HTP. I take 50mg a day (around 1pm) and this was working fine.

However recently it has been very hot and I think this has affected my sleep at night. I find I'm sleeping lightly again and waking up very frequently and then can't get back to sleep.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Mel

Hi Mel,

Have you tried any herbal sleep remedies? Anything with Valerian or Passiflora are usually effective. Also if you are in the UK you can buy something called Nytol from the chemists - it's not herbal, but I believe it's derived from an antihistamine type formula. It really knocks you out, but doesn't affect your morning.
Good luck,
juju

Just a quick note, Nytol do a herbal sleeping remedy also. I have tried the antihistamine formula and yes it does work well, but only for a week or so. You will find that you soon become used to the tablet and it loses it's effectiveness.

Natra sleep do a great herbal sleeping aid that doesn't lose its effectiveness.

Also, maybe taking another 50mg 30-40mins before bedtime may help to improve your sleep.

Cheers

Nicky.
