Topic Title: started 5-HTP & nauseous!

I just quit (after weaning off Zoloft these past 2 months) and just starting 5-HTP 4 days ago, I have had more some anxiety and slight nausiousness. Is this because of the switch from Zoloft to 5-HTP? I must say, I felt great on the lowest dose of Zoloft, but did not want to stay on prescribed medicine for life and also have gained weight on Zoloft, as so many others have too. Others on this board say they felt great from day one of 5-HTP. It's only been 4 days, but I still don't feel good yet. Tried St. Johns wort at one point within the past year and it upset my stomach too. Anyone else experience this or have any words of encouragement? I am taking Natures Way brand that has the special coating on the outside, as to not cause stomach upset. Am still on 50mg. of 5-HTP and plan to increase this to 100mg. by next week. Are you on only 50 mg of 5HTP or 50 mg 2 or 3 times a day... because I am begining on 50 three times a day... and that might be effective for you. Also... are you taking B6 or a multi-vitamin? because those are catalysts for Serotonin production.

Thanks for your reply. I just started taking 100mg. of 5-HTP, taking this amount in one dose at night. Pauline
