I've cut back to 200 mg/day and life is good. I've been watching for any sign of the depression returning because I've been feeling overwheled lately, but nothing.
I hope it stays this way for a long time to come...

Hiya,
Is 5-HTP similiar in the sense to to other SSRI's i.e. the need to wean off slowly? Has anyone noticed any withdrawal symptoms?
I stopped taking 5-HTP just before Christmas and I felt OK at just stopping but.... I hadn't been taking 5-HTP for any considerable amount of time at that stage.
Any luck on the job front yet? How are you coping with hubby under the feet?

No job yet! We are still working things out at home.
I have not experienced any withdrawal symptoms. But I have experienced some symptoms related to the reduced amount of 5htp. Like I'm not sleeping as well, irritable, less motivated.

Hiya,
Ooooh! I hope something pops up soon on the job front.
I know when withdrawing from Seroxat/Paxil, for awhile it was hard to tell if certain symptoms were due to withdrawal or symptoms of depression/anxiety returning i.e. feeling very emotional and very low.
What are you going to do? Are you going to see how things 'pan out' on the lower doseage of 5-HTP?

I'm hoping things will get better. I'm going to wait and see what happens, how I feel.
