I am currently weaning myself off of 5-HTP and so far, having good success. However, I feel pretty bad (emotionally speaking) the week before my period. When I was on a full dose of 5-HTP it did alleviate it although not as much as I had hoped. I really don't want to go back to a full dose of 5-HTP simply for having 4-5 bad days per month. I would really like some sort of relief, however. Have any of you ladies found anything for that pre-menstrual blues. Mine is like a typical blues but magnified.
I really appreciate any insights you might have.

Hi,
I have found by taking 2 Tums twice daily alleviates all menstrual pain. This has also works for allot of my friends. The best part is I have not found any side effects and your body gets the calcium it needs to fight off bone disorders later in life.

Hi Shana, I don't have problems with the menstrual pain. It's the preceding blues. Ever since I"ve been dealing with a depression it has been exceptionally bad. The depression has finally eased but the blues prior to my period has not. Any ideas?

Hi I found that Kava kava helped for PMS. I took 4 a day for a week before and then during. Another product I used which is for helping with hormones is Evening Primrose Oil. I found this taken with KK helped alleviate physical symptoms, bloating etc.
