Yesterday I took it for the first time in two weeks, and when I woke up this morning I felt really nauseous, then I passed out. It really scared me. Before when taking it I would wake up feeling a little nauseous but never this bad. I took 300mg, what I took before, does anyone ever have this problem, is it dangerous? Thanks

I experienced some pretty bad nausea with 5-htp although yours sounds pretty severe. DuPont suggested Nature's Way brand 5-HTP. It is enteric coated and also contains vitamins B6 and C. I don't have any problems with nausea anymore. I had a difficult time finding it in the stores. If you do as well, try iherb.com.
Please keep an eye on your symptoms and consult a Dr. as necessary.

Hi Heidi thanks for your reply. I haven't had a problem since that day. But I also have been spacing out my dosage too. That day I had taken 300 mg within 3 hours. It's weird cause I didn't get nauseous until the *next* morning. But I do think it was mainly from the dosage being so close together. I do use Nature's Way also, actually since that day I have scaled back to 100 mg a day and it's working well for me. So, thanks again.

Yeah I was the one that said it was "the bomb" but now I see a major side-affect, yikes, not sure what I'm gonna do????
