Hi, i'm glad I found this board its useful and I've read lots but I havent found anyone specifically mention using kava and 5-htp so could anyone enlighten me please?
I've used SJW a couple of years ago with no effect, long term my depression has never got any better and I've spent the last 15 years being unhappy to one degree or another. I'm currently using kava kava and while I havent noticed much difference my wife says she has noticed a difference in me so I dont want to stop taking it. I am very interested in 5-HTP and am about to buy some but arent sure if it is a good idea taking it with kava kava?

I take 5htp for depression, and kava kava for anxiety. I find that most of the time I take just the 5htp but when I'm feeling extremely anxious I take the Kava Kava. Kava kava really helps to keep me relaxed.

So where do we get 5-HTP and Kava? Do they react with other medication? Specifically the pill?

I get mine at http://www.iherb.com/iherb/store.html but you can buy them at any health food store. I highly recommend Nature's way brand.
