Topic Title: Sun light

Hello, Does anyone know if 5htp has the same side effect as SJW with sun exposure? I was thinking of taking SJW but I really like to go out in the sun. Can people who take SJW still go to the beach and get tan or do you only get burnt? Can you just put more sun screen on? Sorry for all the questions, but I feel that I have to start taking something because I have been mildly depressed for sometime now, at least I think that is what it is. I can be in a great mood and then all of a sudden I don't feel like doing anything. I don't really feel sad, just not up to doing anything. Anyway thank you for your time.

I've been taking 5htp for almost 2 years, and I have NOT had any reaction to the sun. I've been taking my kids to the beach a couple times a week this summer and I have not had any side effects. 5htp will make you feel better.

I've been taking SJW for about a month, and I've found that I've gotten more sensitive to the sun because of it... not meaning that I burn (my skin handles it pretty well) but that I get pretty intolerate of the sun in a shorter period of time than I'm used to. Sometimes I jokingly refer to it as 'melting', but I would say just go by feel, when it's too much, I just find shade... Probably sunbathing is not a good idea but that doesn't mean you have to lock yourself indoors, right?!
Also, sometimes I find that my eyes are more sensitive to sunlight, so maybe wearing sunglasses and slapping on the sunscreen would do some good.
SJW has been really great for me (natural and almost no side effects)and I am happy to say that it's improved my moods alot. It's no quick fix but it helps--alot.
Good luck, peace,
Kym
