I take 50mg of 5htp in late afternoon, then 100mg at bedtime. I sleep really well until about 3am,but then find it very hard to get back to sleep, has anybody else had similar problems?:frown:

I am taking Rhodiola and added 5-htp a few days ago. I figured, I probably needed a little help in my seratonin production. 50 mg in the evening. I am really tired at first, but then I am wired about three hours later and can't sleep.
I am thinking about dropping the 5-htp altogether until I take a break from my Rhodiola in a few months to cycle it out.

I have reduced my dose of 5htp to 100mg per day and had a better nights sleep:smile:

No, I sleep well and wake at around 3:30am, go to the toilet or just turn over then sleep again with no problems. I think its just that our bodys are waking when we have had enough quality sleep.

Hi!
The same happened to me..I took yesterday 50 mg in the morning, 50 in the afternoon and 50 in the evening...I also was tired but than I could not sleep...So now I will take it in the morning and in the afternoon...and not in the evening and only 100 mg daily...not 150 mg...
I suffer from mood swings..and against mood swings 100 mg or 50 mg daily are enough I think..
I hope that 5htp will help me!
I am also taking progesterone capsules..
Bye-Bye, Reina
