I have just found this website and am very encouraged by what I have read. I am a 57 year old female and have suffered with depression for most of my adult life with not much success with anti-depressants. I have been advised by a counsellor to try SJW, and diet and Omega-3 capsules. I've been taking SJW for about 2 weeks and feel very depressed. However, after reading this website I think my dose is too low. I am taking 1 a day of 300mg and they are Tesco's cheap brand. I will increase them immediately. Like a lot of you, I suffer from extreme fatigue and although I manage to hold down a full time job, I have no motivation to do housework, or anything at the weekends. If anybody has any advice on this I would appreciate it. People say that I have a 'sunny' friendly disposition, but really that's just a disguise for the way I really feel.

Hello J-LO,

I started on SJW just over a week ago and used the statde dose (3 a day with the relevant strength). IM not sure about the tesco brand but I went to Holland and barrett the herbal shop and they have a better then half price reduction on SJW till sometime in september. If you wantde advice and possibly a better brand then maybe ask them. Im not too sure about brands, but they were helpful when I went in, and when I knew it was reduced I was feeling better already! LOL.

anyway, hope that may help you.

good luck

Hi Macca

I love your sense of humour, you felt better finding a bargain!!!!! Just like me. I have increased my dose of cheapo Tesco ones and I actually feel a lot better and over the weekend have been motivated to clear out all the junk in my spare bedroom. I haven't felt like doing anything like that for years.

I will try Holland and Barrett for my next lot of SJW and see if the bargains cheer me up! I have also cut down drastically on sugar as I think that contributes to my depression. I was at a friends on Saturday afternoon and she gave me a small piece of cake (I had to eat it to be sociable) but that's all the sugar I've had for over 2 weeks. The trouble is I don't know now if it's the SJW or cutting our sugar that's made me feel better. I'll just have to carry on doing both.

Love
Jean
