The result were relatively dramatic and gave me the will and the energy to start trying to repair all the damage my incapacity had inflicted on others as well as myself. I still suffered frequent insomnia and side effects, like blurred vision and a persistent cough, but the improvement in my general well-being left no alternative but to continue taking this drug.
Two weeks ago, I asked my GP about St Johns Wort. He agreed it was worth a try and gave me a low dose prescription of Dothiepin of which I take one a day, as well as StJW 0.3% strength three times day.
So far, so good. I now sleep like a log for about six hours, or more, a night and feel really sharp, physically and mentally. Bursting with energy, in fact. Of course, other factors could be at work here - like it's spring(!), so I'm still a little cautious about all this, but at the end of the month I aim to drop the prescription drug to every other day and at the end of next month I'll let it go completely. Time will tell, but I have high hopes that, finally, I've struck the mother lode.
The main side effect of StJW seems to be sensitivity to strong sunlight, but in the UK we don't have much of a problem with that :o)

BTW, Kelly, there aren't many genuinely useful sites on the the net, but this is definitely one of them. Many thanks,

Scottie.

After a bit of 'turbulence' when first taking SJW and ditching the Dothiepin, I now feel what can only be described as normal. I sleep well, my energy levels are high and my life in now suffused with an unparalleled optimism. If you're hesitating, and maybe a bit cynical about SJW, don't be. Not everyone is going to react the same way, but there's nothing to lose and everything to gain. Go for it - and good luck.

Best, Scottie.
