Hi guys,

I discovered this site when I was researching st john's wort a few weeks ago and now I am back to join the community. I have been taking nature's way perika for about 2-1/2 weeks now but haven't really seen much difference yet. I have also heard that it could take up to 6 weeks to see a significant difference. So should I continue with this brand for another 3 weeks or try changing it now? Speaking of brands, people in america, any opinions on drug store brands like from GNC or vitamin shoppe and other brands like nature's resource etc... any luck with those?
Also, I noticed that there are 2 versions of nature's way st john's wort, plain "nature's way" and the "nature's way perika", does it anybody know what the difference is? Perika is kind of expensive and isn't available in bulk so is there a comparable brand that is cheaper... or should I think about "you get what you pay for"?
Some days are really bad when I am worried about anything particular then some days are ok. I don't know if st john's wort supposed to help if you are worried about something specific?
Anyway, I am really HOPING(hence the name) that this works for me and I feel happy and calm again!!!! I guess, I'll use your guys' experiences and advice as guidance and support on my road to recovery!!
Thanks!!

I think most people here will tell you to keep on the same brand for now. The Perika is supposed to be one of the best, so I think you should stick with that for at least 4 to 6 weeks. I didn't know it was working until one day (about 3 weeks in), and then I noticed how differently I was reacting to situations (in a postive way). Hang in there, I think you'll be glad you did.

Hi I have been taking Rhodiola for 5 weeks to no effect after coming off Citalopram which I had been taking for 4 years for moderate depression and anxiety. I am rather anxious !! about starting this but am just not coping especially at work. I am hoping SJW will work - is the typical dosage 300mg 3 x daily?
I found the Citalopram very good but it just dulled my feelings and I had started to have increased side effects - I would prefer to take something natural.
I have just found this site and have been reading others experiences - it seems good to have support and to be able to support others with the same experiences.

Hi guys,
thanks for the reply. I think the correct amount for sjw is 900 mg /day. I can't wait for my 6 weeks to be up so that I can feel better like people say. I don't like feeling bad most of the time, it's no fun and interferes with work and you don't want to do anything when you get home!!!
my sister is helping me with this, she listens to my problems.. kind of like a therapist but she has her own family and house to take care of and sometimes we don't talk for days but it's still better than having nobody to talk to. Anyway, I am HOPING that I can "cure" myself without going to a psychiatrist and prescriptions!!! anyway, does anybody feel anxious and/or angry when taking sjw? does it go away?
Thanks!
