I am currently on Effexor. I've put up with the side effects, mostly sexual, for all these years and am ready to try something else. Has anyone had good experiences changing from a prescription to Saint John's Wort?

Most of the prescriptions have been good for the depression, but I would love a normal sex life. Any success stories would be appreciated.

I took Paxil for a while and the side effects were just too much for me. Inability to have an orgasm, weight gain and extreme fatigue.

I took a holistic approach without my doctor who seemed hell bent on dispensing Paxil. Don't get me wrong, Paxil is a god send for a lot of people, just not me.

My approach was and is, plenty of exercise, meditation and yoga, journaling, a 12 step program and going back to church.

I hope this helps.

I'm considering trying it, but I don't know where to start. I tried the twisting and contorting type and didn't like it at all (I prefer long walks for exercise.) My meditation advice comes mostly from a friend named Bill.
