Hello,
I have tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and started to take Rhodiola Rosae last week. After only one dose of 250 mg I noticed an increase in volume of my ringing in the ears, and I stopped immediately with this herb. After 4 days of stopping with RR I still feel the ringing in the ears exacerbate. Anybody knows if this is normal, and how many days the body get rid off of this substance?
Thanks.

I suffer from mild tinnitus and found that magnesium (which I was trialling as an anti-depressant) reduced it to virtually nothing. I took 2 x 200mg magnesium citrate daily and noticed the effect after a few days. Since then, I've learned that it's quite a common treatment for this condition.
If you continue to suffer with elevated levels of tinnitus, it's definitely worth a try.

Thanks Sheephead for your feedback and suggestion. But do you know if Rhadiola Rosae could be responsible for an increase in the Tinnitus?

I don't....and I can't find anything on the internet about a connection.
Everybody responds differently to different substances and it's perfectly possible that RR has produced an unwanted side-effect. However, I would have thought that after four days the active ingredients contained in RR would have left your system.

I notice a slight ringing in my ears also, but I don't know if its from the rr or the source natural antioxidant formula. I just recently started taking both.
Since others on this forum are having the same problem I will drop the RR and see what happens. Will keep you posted.

Yes, it seems that RR can cause tinnitus, or make already existing tinnitus worse. Atleast in my case. Seems to be very dependent on dose. High doses, such as 1+ gram per day seems to be much more likely to cause this.
It usually fades away to normal levels after a few days to a week.
So, either quit RR or lower the dose considerably.
