Here is the description I found for it. Has anyone tried this?

Ylang Ylang is also an anti-depressant, reduces anxiety and acts as a sedating agent. It is very helpful in situations of hyperventilation, tachycardia and panic attacks. Ylang Ylang has also been shown to help individuals to release anger.

Nope, haven't heard of that yet but am definetely going to be looking into it, thanks for sharing this! By the way I read about how your dad passed a way and you have my condolences, it's been just over a year now since my brother passed and besides my wife he was my only friend, can't emphasize that word "only" enough there. Many might be startled at how many posts I've been posting on this forum lately, but I don't mind, the truth is I literally locked myself indoors for the last year and am just now starting these herbs and feeling like myself again. Took a 5-mile walk this morning which was very nice. But I just wanted to mention that you are not alone in dealing with your loss, I know that we as the person grieving think that we are, but we're not. And what I keep in mind and it's helping me through this, is to ask myself #1 What would he be doing right now if he were still here on Earth and it was me who had died? (probably just fine, still dealing with his anxiety of course, but living his life as well), and #2 What is he wanting you to do right now? (more than likely wants you to continue on with your life in the hopes that you will stop grieving over him and meet some new, nice people, and have a good career and happy future). It might sound cheesy, but it's what I keep in mind throughout this to keep me on this side of forever.

"The people living in darkness have seen a great light, on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned." ------ Matthew 4:16

"Let the dead bury the dead." ----(also from the Bible, forget which verse though)

I have not gone out in so long to meet anyone because of my anxiety, and now the depression from my daddy's death, I do not have any friends nor do I know how to meet new ones. Sounds weird I know. I live in a very small town. I am glad to know that I am not alone and someone out there feels the same way I do. Since his death, I really do not have anyone that I can talk to, so I came here.

Is this the bible verse you were referring to:

Luke 11:60: "Let the dead bury their dead but go out and preach the kingdom of heaven."

I found some lotion years ago by Aveeno which has Ylang Ylang and lavender in it. They advertise it as their "stress relief" lotion and I do find the scent very relaxing. I know they've said that for eons about lavender, but I was never attracted to that sent much.

I found this about Ylang-Ylang on Wikapdeia. What might be helpful I put in bold and underlined:

The essential oil of ylang-ylang is used in aromatherapy. It is believed to relieve high blood pressure, normalize sebum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sebum) secretion for skin problems, and is considered to be an aphrodisiac.[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ylang-ylang#cite_note-2) According to Margaret Mead, it was used as such by South Pacific natives such as the Solomons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solomon_Islands) where she did much of her research. The oil from ylang-ylang is widely used in perfumery for oriental or floral themed perfumes (like Chanel No. 5). Ylang-ylang blends well with most floral, fruit and wood smells. In Indonesia, ylang-ylang flowers are spread on the bed of newlywed couples. In the Philippines, its flowers, together with the flowers of the sampaguita (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampaguita), are strung into a necklace and worn by women and used to adorn religious images.
Ylang-ylang's essential oil makes up 29% of the Comoros (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comoros)' annual export (1998).
Ylang Ylang is a common ingredient in the motion sickness medicine, MotionEaze.
