RR and Xanax

I am new to the forum and wondering if anyone knows if it is ok to take RR and Xanax at the same time? I am looking to eventually wean myself off the 1.5 mg of Xanax that I currently take, but cannot do it without replacing it slowly with something else. I used to take SJW, but that was when I only took Xanax occassionally and it didn't seem to cause a problem. However, I am finding several articles about not taking Xanax and SJW at the same time as the SJW reduces the half life of Xanax by 50%. I am a person with anxiety first and then depression. I am wondering if RR will make my anxiety worse?

I am also wondering if any of you take SJW and RR together? My husband just added RR to his already SJW and 5 HTP regimen. However, his doses are quite low and he takes the RR at a different time of the day. :lookaround:

I didn't realize that there was a problem with SJW and xanax. I do recall seeing one of the benzo meds listed, but I didn't think it was xanax. I have an rx for klonopin and I'm sure it's not a problem with that. You might want to double check that. I know you can use xanax with rx antidepressants.

BTW, I highly recommend that anyone taking xanax ask their doctor for klonopin instead. It has a longer half life, and the effects last longer. I had xanax for years, until a doctor suggested I try klonopin instead. It's a much better rx.
