NOW Brand

I have taken the advice of some of you here and ordered the NOW Brand of 5-HTP. I hope that it works well.

I ordered the NOW Brand of 5-HTP 17 days ago. That means I have been without my 5-HTP for 17 grueling days. I have been crying and very depressed from being without it for so long. Does anyone know if I will have to start with the lowest dose possible all over again?

Good luck with 5 htp! In response to the last poster, no, I don't see why you'd have to start all over again. I would start where you left off and if it feels like too much, then just cut back.
I take the Source Naturals brand and it works well for me.

I noticed NOW sells L-tryptophan too (again?). What the situation with that in the USA? Is it still prescription only or can one buy it OTC? I did have better experience with this than with 5-htp. But it depends on ones biological chemistry I guess.

Finally, I received my NOW brand 5-HTP. I have to say it seems the best out of all the brands I have tried. It has less additives and seems to be much stronger, which requires me to take less at the moment. Happier now.
