Hi gang. I have to share about this book I just got. It's called "The Highly Sensitive Person" by Elaine N. Aron, Ph.D. I really think it's going to help me (and maybe some of you), as I am very sensitive and I think causes alot of my depression because I take things and/or people wrong and it all goes downhill from there. Accordingly to the self help quiz in the book, I scored 18 out of 23 as being highly sensitive (you score 12 and up if you are considered H.S. I guess). I feel like the book is speaking to me so far. Has anyone else read it and have any feedback?

I've been feeling very poorly lately about myself and my life situation. I'm back on SJW after being off for maybe a month.

I can relate to that. A close friend used to tell me that I was too sensitive, physically and emotionally. I have CFIDS, and am also sensitive to cold, food allergies, have chronic pain, etc. The medical term for allergic reactions is "hypersensitivity". To me it feels like nervous sensitivity in all directions, a fading flower.

The book is a great resource. After I read it, I felt like I wasn't such a freak. I highly recommend it.

If you don't mind my asking, what is CFIDS?

Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

A companion to allergies: prone to recurrent upper respiratory infections and fever-chills-muscle-aches viruses, sensitive to cold, fatigue (run-down). There are some posts about it in the forum here somewhere, I think, maybe in archives. One of the authoritative doctors specialising in the treatment of it, if the condition leads to a feeling of depression, has found 5HTP and SJW helpful. I don't remember his website - I've just been reading online the past few days about uses of SJW and associated herbs.
