Ok, I've switched to RR from SJW because I was just sick of that fatigued feeling that I was getting on SJW... although SJW did help me somewhat with my depression no doubt.

Also my doctor says I may have Cushing's Syndrome (tests to come to confirm this) but that means I have a cortisol excess and RR is known for reducing Cortisol levels which is good!

Too early on to tell if it's working but I have noticed three strong side effects

1) Very Vivid Dreams
2) Increased Sexual Urges (which is frustrating because I'm single!)
3) DOES NOT MIX WITH ALCOHOL - drunk on Fri nite and was completely out of it after a few beers, thought that was just a one-off but the same thing just happened last night.

Anyone else get these side effects?

vivid dreams: this is because RR increases your seratonin levels. this is normal because seratonin is responsible for a deeper sleep which equals more vivid dreams.
increased sexual urges: this is because RR increases your dopamine levels. dopamine is responsible for confidence, drive, your level of comunication and obviosult the DRIVE for sex.
alcohol: there should be no bad interactions with alcohol. this was probably a coincidence.

What you thought was an interaction with the RR was more likely a 'normal' effect of the alcohol on your liver. And there is a clear connection between liver, spleen, kidneys on the one hand and depression on the other hand. When I was all the way deep, deep down, I did not feel like drinking anything that has more alcohol than orange juice. Anything that is hard on your liver will also increase depression.

Has rhodiola rosea made you lose weight or minimize your appetite? I read the 5htp curbs your appetite and I really do not need something that will make me eat less becuase my appetite is not so good as it is so I was wondering if rhodiola rosea would be better for me if it will not make me eat less. Has that been a side effect for anyone?

Hmm, I find that RR curbs my appetite too. I've been taking 100 5htp last thing at night and 250mg RR each morning and sometimes at lunchtime too - keeps me awake during the afternoons - I've not felt like eating much at all.

Have you considered taking some dietary supplements to ensure that you maintain your weight and health - Complan or Build Up is what we have in the UK.

Are you taking some vitamins and minerals too?

Vivid dreams? More sex? Less tired and weight loss? If these are the side effects, I suggest we start buying shares in the stuff!

I started taking RR about 6 weeks ago,at first I noticed a massive surge in energy, even taking it at lunchtime kept me awake at night. I felt like I was on speed or something ! my thoughts were racing. However I switched to taking it very early am. The effects seem to have worn off somewhat. I was also however taking a prescription tricyclic drug. I am now weaned off the presc. med and want to take SJW and 5htp (it's a combination in one pill, I know about serotonin syndrome but have been assured there's no danger with this particular dosage level). I do still want to take my RR.
I am curious as to whether the increased sex drive is particular to males only or whether it affects females too !?
I also would like to curb my appetite (for food ) somewhat.
I am very interested to hear anyone's experience with RR whether good or bad ???
if you don't want to go into detail here you can PM me ! Thanks !
