Hi everyone.....first of all I want to say that I am from Canada and there does not seem to be that many genuine healthfood stores around my city/area.

I managed to go to "Goodness Me"....to look for some Rhodiola Rosea....if there are any Canadians on here...they might recognize the name.

They had only 2 brands and in short supply but luckily I saw a name that seems pretty recomended on this board...Enymatic Therapy....its called Rhodiola Energy....40 capsules...205mg each....standardized to contain 12.3% mg (3%) Rosavin & 1% salidroside. I understand thats pretty good. It doesn't expire for almost 3 years so I think I'm okay.

But it cost me about $20 Canadian with tax. Though I only plan on taking 1 capsule a day...thats pretty steep.

Especially if there are any Canadians...do you know where I can get this cheaper?

Also I would like to hear if anyone has any experience with this brand/product....do you think I got the right one?

Just wondering also.....Rhodiola Rosea come in liquid form by any chance or gel capsule.....are gel/gelatin capsules just water inside.....honestly I ask b/c I've never taken one.

Also I also got a pretty good B50 complex which I will take with food....heard there are many benefits to the B's.....again do vitamins' like B's come in liquid form.....or chewables like vitamin C or calcium tablets.

Does tablet mean chewable...capsule not...what's a gelatin capsule.....I just want to know to know so I can distinguish between different things.....many supplements come in many different forms nowadays its kind of confusing.

Thanks everyone.....I might start taking it tomorrow or the next day.

Just wanted to mention I found a store that has the NOW brand ....250mg( a little higher per dose but not too high)....60 capsules....so thats 50% more for basically the same price.

Should I go with this one.....b/c I don't want to be changing brands down the road.

Also as I mentioned I plan on taking some B complex vitamins....I just read that its better to take these seperate from other vitamins and minerals....that seemed a little odd to me....b/c its usually recommended and good to take vitamins with meals.....I mean thats where you get your most vitamins and minerals naturally anyways...

so does that mean you should take this type on an empty stomach....I know there's a lot of knowledge out in this forum...so I'd appreciate anyone with some to respond.

Thanks.

i'll take a little break from hw and explain. im from the capital; ottawa. i use the now brand 500mg at 3%. one caplet a day is perfect because the daily dosage of rasovins a day should range from 10 to 20mg. So 500x3%=15mg of rasovins. if you bought the 250mg at 3% that is great to. take two pills a day or just take two pills on empty stomache the first thing you wake up. this should start your day of nicely since alot of ppl feel like snaping in the morning. you should feel melow and a bit more social. so my recommendation is the now brand. make sure you get 10-20mg of rasovins a day and never get out of that range. there are now liquid forms of the supplement because it is a herb. you also asked about gelatin caps. those are just regular capsules that you can open; they are made with gelatin so they can disolve in your stomache. any more questions i will be happy to reply.

THanks Artur...I might go with the NOW brand....but might start with only 250mg per day....I'm also going ask if they have the NWO liquid one.

I'm gonna wait for some more responses though....b/c I heard Enzymatic Therapy mentioned before as a good brand. They're probably both good though.

Also, do you think you can answer about the Vitamin B's(complex) ....I heard they are best digested if taken seperate from other vitamins and minerals.....I would assume that would mean the best would be to take them on an empty stomach.....or I guess with carbs/protein would be fine too.

Thanks again for taking the time to answer this.

i can tell you for sure that there are no liquid forms of rhodiola and even if you check the NOW website, you will find that they only have it in capsule form. as for b vitamins; it is best to take them on an empty stomache for best absorption. the best recommendation would be taking your rhodiola and your b vitamins first thing when you wake up. both supplements do not give any digiestive problems and will kick start your day. Enzymic therapy is good to but you get a better value for your buck with the NOW. and also wondering what part of canada are you from.

Hey Artur, thanks for the advice. I think I'll take it.

I'm close to the Toronto area actually. I've been to Ottawa once though. A very nice, clean city I thought.

Take care,
