Hi Everyone, this is my first post here.

Firstly let me say what a great resource this site is and congrats to Kelly for all the work he has done!

I have recently come to grips with the fact that I have mild to moderate depression and anxiety problems. This has been prevalent for a little over a year but I've only just realised now that this is what was wrong. Start of 06 I was dumped from a close long term relationship, sustained a physical injury that would lead to chronic pain, and was stuck in a job that I hated. I started getting depressed which eventually lead to me quitting my job and being unemployed for a few months mid 06. Eventually I found a new job which is great so far and my life is getting back on track. However I have had this big cloud hanging over my head which affects how I deal with friends and family. At work we have an open-plan office space and I would be locked in a mental barrier around my cubicle terrified to speak to other people and unable to hold a meaningful conversation - all for no reason that I could comprehend. A lot of this I have been attributing to chronic pain but recently I have been making progress in this area and was still feeling these strange feelings. A friend of mine recently was diagnosed with depression so I started researching and it seemed like I fitted the bill. Not a big fan of being on medication (i was prescribed all kinds of crap for my chronic pain but just hated the side effects) I was very interested to find the effect SJW has on people with depression and anxiety.

Needless to say I rushed off to the supermarket and had a browse. There was SJW but right next to it was SJW plus. This seemed to have the same ingredients plus a whole lot of other stuff that looked good.

1tablet St John's Wort Plus:
2000mg hypericum perforatum - stdzed Hypericin 1.1mg Hyperforin 16.7mg
100mg Ginkgo Biloba
200mg L-Glutamine
100mg L-Tyrosine
20mg Magnesium
15mg Vitamin B6

Pack said take 1-3 tabs daily so I had 2 straight off the bat. I felt very mildly better but I did notice some difference.

The next morning I took another 2 and started to really notice a difference. I was more outgoing, self-confident, alive & energetic, and fun to be around. I was telling everyone how great I felt and I finally felt myself after 1 year of being in a pit. I also felt fully in control of everything I did. The next morning I took another 2 and felt really drowsy for the first 3-4 hours of the morning. I then picked up again but not with the same results. At this stage I cut back to 1 pill a day as these side effects weren't really my cup of tea. I then started doing more research and found this website. Everything I read went against what I was experiencing - I was taking less than the reccomended dose yet I was experiencing changes straight away that normally take some weeks to feel. I went and bought St John's Wort last night (not plus) and will start taking this now.

Has anyone had experience with a similar St John's Wort "Plus" and can they tell me their experiences??

I'm starting to think that my initial reaction may have been directly related to the l-glutamine, l-tyrosine and ginkgo biloba rather than the SJW and now this has bottomed out I am now on the slow road to SJW effectiveness... thoughts?
